New Year, New Studio.

I've moved from the Birmingham Historic Civil Rights District to the Birmingham Historic Loft District, a site that claims the largest group of renovated commercial architecture in the South, according to the Birmingham Historical Society.

The move brings me two blocks from where I set up my first studio 28 years ago.

My new address is:
2316 First Avenue North Birmingham, AL 35203

in a building called The Avenues. Since the building was originally a hotel, during the iron and coal boom of the late 1800s, I'm not technically the first inhabitant of Suite 101. But I will be the first tenant of Suite 101 in this handsome, totally renovated building.

I have a wonderful daylight studio and a shooting space on the roof, where there's also a two-hole putting green, a killer gas grill, and amazing views of the city. It's a whole different world up there.
